I have a page that has an editor in the middle. When the page loads, the content of the editor shows in a larger font and then about a half second later resizes to the smaller font that page body has set to. This does happen in IE. is there any way to avoid this?

Could you please, open a support ticket and send a sample working project that demonstrates the observed behavior?
You can also try to set the CssFiles property to point to an external css file and see whether the problem still persists. Please, see the following help article for more information: Default Font for Editable Content.
