Hi!

We have some customers that have some problems using the editor in Firefox 3.x

I would like to know the status ( if you are gonna fix them or if they cant be fixed ) on the following problems
  • Select a table and copy it and then paste it doesnt work
  • Select a table and center align it causes a visual bug which makes it hard to work with the table
  • Working with form elements (input, textarea etc). Cannot resize them like in IE and theres no contextmenu

Would appreciate an answer so we can report back to our customers.

Hi Niclas,

Straight to the points:
  1. Please, note that if you directly click on a table under Firefox you will be not able to copy and paste it because the browser does not permits the copy operation itself. The content area of RadEditor is an editable IFRAME which uses the Rich Text Editing engine of the browser under which it operates and the observed behavior is related to Firefox.

Nevertheless, you will be able to copy the table by selecting not only the table but some content outside it. You can see the attached video for more information. I used WinRar to archive the video because of the better media compression of this archivator.
  2. Please, see the TableAlignmentVideo.zip video and let me know if this is the problem that you experience. I was able to reproduce this behavior in a competitors' editor and I think that this is a browser behavior again.
  3. This is again a Firefox limitation which prevents the selection of input elements in editable IFRAME / DIV elements. That is why we cannot provide support for context menus. Firefox does not offer also resize handlers for these elements and it is not possible to resize them using the functionality provided only by Internet Explorer.

I was able to set the width size of a FORM element using the Node Inspector module of RadEditor.

Hi!

Thanks for your answer.

Regarding point 2. Yes I have the same problem when aligning tables.

I was afraid this was all browser limitation bugs =(
