Hi Mike,
Most likely your items are not aligned and spacer rows/columns are created. Try to align report items in rows and columns so that their edges coincide. The white space in a report section, that is the space unoccupied by report items, will be emulated by empty rows and columns known as spacers. The better report items are aligned horizontally and vertically with respect to one another at design-time, the less spacer rows and columns will be produced. Use the Visual Studio Formatting Toolbar to quickly align report items. More info on is available in the Design Considerations section and specifically the excel article. We suggest you go through all of them so that you are aware of their peculiarities and know what to expect.

I have a report with 6057 rows. However, when I export it to Excel it generates 6080 rows. Why 23 records added to excel? How to solve this problem?

Hello Farah,
Most probably there are merged cells or other report sections which occupy additional space. Please check the Design Considerations for Excel Rendering article and the paragraph regarding Merging Cells.
