Hi,

I'm getting an exception when I close the form containing a report viewer,
while it's generating the report.
On slow machines, the generating of the report can take some time,
and users might close the form before the generation is completed.

How should that exception be handled ?

Thanks,

Hi Hin,

You are talking about Windows Forms project - correct? Although we have not been able to produce any errors simply by closing the form while the report is still generating, we're aware of similar problem when canceling a report export. Can you tell us what the exact error is and provide us with steps to reproduce it?

All the best,

Hi,

Yes I'm talking about a winform project. I'm using Telerik Reporting Q1 2008. I can reproduce the exception with the Visual studio Examples, the C# Solution. Here are the steps.
Build the solution, run it in visual studio.
In the Report Selector, pick the first report "BusinessCard report".
While the report is still generating in the new window, close it.
An exception is thrown.

The exception I'm getting in my solution is {"The ReportViewer control handle failed to create."}.

Thanks for a quick reply.

Hi Hin,

It seems that you're not using the latest Telerik Reporting version as there is no BusinessCard report in it. I've tested with similar report (Product Tags) and tried with all others but could not produce any errors. Please upgrade to the latest version and if still having the same problem, any further guidance to replicate the problem would be appreciated.
