Hello,

I'm having an error when trying to export a report to Excel. The error is:

"Attempting  to get range {7,73}{11,1}. Merged=False, Parent=Sheet1[0], that intersects with an already merged range."

What is the meaning of this? Export to other format work fine.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Luis,

Please upgrade to the latest version of Telerik Reporting Q2 SP2 where this problem should be resolved. Give it a spin and let us know if still having problems.

Best wishes,

Hello again,

The Telerik Reporting Upgrade Wizard (Beta) don't work very well. After select the project that I want to upgrade, doesn't show any data in the Versions area. So, I manually upgrade the reference to the telerik dlls .

After this operation, I compiled the project and works fine. Then I try to export to excel and I'm having the same problem. Now, takes more time to get the error, but, I'm still having the error:

"Attempting to get range {0,75}{29,1}, Merged=False, Parent =Sheet1[0], that intersects with an already merged range.

Please help.

Thank you

Hello Luis,

We're aware of the current problems with the Upgrade Wizard (still in Beta) and would address them for the official release (Q3).
Can you please double check the referenced to the Telerik Reporting assemblies and verify the version used is 2.8.8.925 (Q2 SP2)? If this is indeed the case, you are the first one to report such a problem after fixing this issue and we would kindly ask you to prepare a sample runnable report and send it to us in a support ticket. You can zip it and attach it there along with any additional instructions (if any).

Looking forward to your reply.

Hello Steve,

I discovered the problem! It's strange but one of the subreports that I have was generating the error. I was using  textboxes in front of a blue textbox (used to set a background color).

After changing the layout (deleting the back textbox) the error disappear.

It's strange but worked!

Thank your for your support.

Hi Luis,

Overlapping items is generally a no-no practice and leads to unexpected results. In your case you could use a Panel as container item and set the background to it instead of a textbox, which is totally unexpected.

Well, Overllaping items caused in my case crash while exporting to excel. When I saw Steve's reply I repaired my report by removing all overlapping even in subreports and everything works fine now. I can export to Excel so please remember: "Overlapping items is generally a no-no practice and leads to unexpected results" as Steve said.
