I have a web page that I am trying to update the DLL to my reporting project. When I update the dll, I am getting an error that states "The project currently cotains references to more than one version of telerik.reporting, a direct reference to version 4.2.10.1215 and an indirect reference ('modreports2010.regimentreport') to version 5.1.11.713. Change the direct version to use version 5.1.11.713 (or higher) of Telerik.Reporting.

I have deleted all of the references I can find and re-referenced. I can not find the "direct reference" it is referring to.

Can you please give me some guidance on this issue?

Hello Philip,

Please use the Upgrade Wizard to upgrade the project - it would make sure all Telerik Reporting references are updated. If you have manually copied assemblies to bin folder, please delete them as it does not replace existing assemblies.
Additionally, if you store your reports in a separate class library that is referenced in your web project, make sure you update the class library project and rebuilt the solution so that the web project contains updated class library dll.

Q2’11 SP1 of Telerik Reporting is available for download (see what's new). Get it today.

I am again experiencing the same issue as above. I have a web page with a reference to the report class. I have ran the upgrade wizard on the report, and updated the dll. I have ran the upgrade wizard on the website also. I have searched the entire project, and there is no reference to 5.3.12.119.

I have recently moved all of the references from the GAC to the Bin folder, and the dll is current.

The project currently contains refrences to more than one version of Telerik.Reporting, a direct reference to version 5.3.12.119 and an indirect reference (through Modreports2010.modreport) to version 6.0.12.215. Change the direct reference to use version 6.0.12.215 (or higher) of Telerik.Reporting.

Hello Philip,

We have the following questions:
  • is this a VB.NET project?
  • does the error only occur in the VS designer, but on building and running your project it works without problems?

Yes, I am using VB.Net and yes the program builds correctly, just gives me the errors in the design environment. I just wanted to make sure it wasnt going to cause an issue once published.

Hi Philip,

We've found quite a few threads dating back to VS2003 solution upgraded to VS2005 that report this problem. I tried most of the suggested solutions but none resolved it for me (I do have quite a few reporting version on my machine). As everything runs, either ignore this error or if it bugs you and you do not plan to develop any more reports with the Q3 2011 release, uninstall any previous version of Telerik Reporting.

Kind regards,
Steve
