Hi,
I've just updated my reports from the Q3 2010 release to the new Q2 2011 release and on all reports I am now getting the following error when previewing the report in VS: "The source of the report definition has not been specified".

In the code behind the report I manually setup the datasource and it was working perfectly till now.

Is there some obvious breaking change that has caused this to appear?

Regards,

Jon

Not to worry. I've cleaned the application and it seems to be OK now.

One thing worth noting and it is separate to this issue is the the upgrade wizard missed a line in my web.config.  In the controls section I had a reference to Telerik.ReportViewer.WebForms and that stayed as the old version.  Easily fixed but as I mentioned it was missed by the upgrade wizard.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon,

We were not able to reproduce such problem on our end and all references were correctly updated to the latest version. Generally it is good practice to uninstall any previous reporting versions from the dev machine when you install the latest one. This way there is a little chance to keep old references unless you have manually copied assemblies over to the bin. One thing to check is whether the Special Version property of the viewer assembly was set to true. This might explain why it was not updated.

Hi Steve,

Yeah I'd removed the old ver before hand.  Not to worry as it was a mega quick fix.

Cheers,

Jon
