I noticed I have those package load failures repeated at least once during the loading of Visual Studio 2008. That's the first load after the installation of Q2 2012 release.
I'm not sure whether this is related. But I'm not sure what need to be done.
When I'm prompted for whether to disable loading of package, I just clicked No, so every time they will prompt me the same errors multiple times when I restart my Visual Studio 2008.
I also noticed that the Q2 release still crash Visual 2008 (even though it's not running) and require me to send crash reports to Microsoft. Maybe Telerik need to look into this (but I'm running an older version of OS, Windows XP SP3). I'm not sure whether the latest installers are compatible with Windows XP or not. Hopefully Telerik will solve this installer issues in the next release or minor release.
Thank you.

Jenson

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing such issues.
The RadControls' installers are fully compatible with Windows XP and you should not be experiencing any issues.
I reviewed the attached screenshots and it seems that Visual Studio 2008 is looking the Telerik VSExtensions from your previous installations.
I would recommend repairing your MVC Extensions, RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and RadControls for WinForms installations using the offline installers (msi files) or our new Telerik Control Panel tool.
Let me know if that helps.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
The installer is really a great tool to download and install the purchased or trial products you want.
Thanks for the great supports and great tools developed by all of you at Telerik.
I love this Control Panel from Telerik.
While it provides me with the convenience of downloading and updating my Telerik control collections, but I noticed that it won't allow me to keep both Q1 and Q2 together, instead, it will uninstall the Q1 and repair my Q2.
Maybe it's still better to do manual repairs with individual standalone installers?
Or it is meant to fix the issues faced by those have multiple releases installed and face the same question like mine? So that's why it's uninstalling my Q1 releases? It's still running without my supervision, which is good as I can work on other tasks right now.
Thank you!

Hi Jenson,
Thank you for the kind words!
In order to repair those of your products for which you'd like to keep an older installation, you have to perform repairs with the individual standalone installers.
As for the Telerik Control Panel tool, it doesn't currently support keeping more than one version installed. That is something we are working on to improve and will hopefully take part in some of our next releases.
Note that for you only need to repair your latest version (using the msi files) due to specifics in our deployment strategy. (you can find some more information on this topic in our documentation: http://www.telerik.com/help/winforms/installation-deployment-and-distribution-vsx-major-and-minor-releases.html).
I hope that helps!

Thanks for the update, while I managed to update some of the controls via Control Panel, some of them I've used the standalone installers to update due to the issue with my Visual Studio 2005. I always disable those controls that have supports for Visual Studio 2005, so that it can be installed successfully.
However, all my previous Q1 releases have been removed by Telerik Control Panel. I hope it won't do any harms? I just remove reference to Q1 DLLs to Q2 DLLs which is working fine so far.
Thank you and hope to see the improved Control Panel and more to come from Telerik in the releases to come.
Cheers,
Jenson
Replacing your references from Q1 DLLs to Q2 DLLs shouldn't cause any issues. You could also use our Upgrade Wizard to fix your entire solution (more info).
Let me know if that helps.

Every time I update Rad Controls for asp.net
1. Package Load Failure happens every time
2. devenv.exe /setup (wait for the process to finish)
3. devenv.exe /resetSkpPkgs
4. reinstall VS.net using repair feature from control p
This process is time consuming and ridiculous
I have windows 7 64bit professional
VS.net 2008
3 Web Applications to update
for the past 2 years I have had this Problem
PLEASE someone Help..
I love telerik controls, but I will have to switch to something else if I can't resolve this..
Thank you for contacting us!
It's not necessary to repair your Visual Studio installation in case of package load failure. I think that steps 1 to 3 will resolve the issue on your side. If they don't I suggest you to repair your RadControls installation instead of the Visual Studio.
I hope this helps.
