Hello,

My project team is using the RadComboBox control from the 2009 set of controls. Our application is required to be Section 508 Compliant. I have read in the 2010 Q3 SP2 Release Notes that you have added the property "EnableAriaSupport" to this control which I know has been added for other controls like the TreeView and makes them more screen-reader accessible. I cannot however find any documentation about what this property does specifically for the RadComboBox (like at: http://blogs.telerik.com/blogs/posts/10-06-29/radtreeview_now_supports_wai-aria.aspx).

Could you please direct me to detailed documentation about how this property will make the RadComboBox more screen reader accessible?

Thanks!

Lauren

Hi Lauren,

The ARIA support we introduced in RadComboBox is only initial, i.e. we have implemented only base attributes and the control is still not completely screen reader accessible. What I mean is that in addition to the EanbleAriaSupport property you need to set AllowCustomText to true. All this is the reason we have not provided detailed documentation on the subject.

Having all of the above in mind, we are planning a review of the current functionality and will it fully for the next release at the latest (probably it will be available in an internal build before that).

I hope this helps.

All the best,
Simon
