Design Mode (VS.NET 2008), properties of the editor, uncheck all editmodes.  A zero gets placed in the html (editmodes="0").  Then when you execute the page you get the following error

'EnumConverter' is unable to convert 'Telerik.Web.UI.EditModes' to 'System.ComponentModel.Design.Serialization.InstanceDescriptor'

Not sure why you would ever want to uncheck all of the editmodes, but i did by accecent and it was difficult to find out why i was getting that error.

Version: 2008.3.1125.35

Hi Jason,

Indeed, when you uncheck all of the editor modes you will receive an exception. The reason is because "0" is automatically set as a value of the EditModes property and this is not a valid value.
I suggest you to set at least one Edit Mode because there is no point of using the RadEditor without setting Edit Mode.
