Hello Zed,

Please take a look at the "Ajax Support" help topic that elaborates on using our Web ReportViewer with our AjaxManager and the ASP.NET AJAX one.

Kind regards,

AJAX still does not work for me. I looked at the 'Ajax Support' help topic that describes how to use AJAX with the ReportViewer but it does not work. I am using an asp.net update panel and the ReportViewer will not load the report. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Kelly,

Make sure that you're using Q2 or later where the ajax support has been implemented. I've just made a test with Q2 SP2 and it is working fine. Sample project is attached for your convenience.

I tried the example and it still does not work on my machine. We are using Telerik Reporting Q2 2008 SP1 and VS2008 SP1 with 3.5 framework. We are also using the trial version of reporting because we are waiting for our order be approved. Can you think of anything else?

Hello Kelly,

I've just converted my sample project to use .NET3.5 and VS2008 and tried it again on my end - it does load the report properly with the correct timestamp and does not update the external label, which would have been the case if a standard postback occurs instead of an ajax one. The trial version is fully functional and only shows a trial message, so it is not related to it.
Can you elaborate on the "does not work" as everything works correctly on our end. Again sample project attached.

Best wishes,
Steve

When I say does not work, this is what I mean. The report will load on the page load but when I try to load the report using a button click and AJAX, the report does not show up. The ReportViewer control is still visible but the report does not appear.

Hello Kelly,

Have you been able to run and test the sample web application I've attached in my previous post and what is the result? If my sample works, but yours does not - can you see what are the differences in web.config/code behind/html markup?

Kind regards,

I am able to run and test the sample application but I get the same result. On the button click, the label in the update panel updates but the ReportViewer does not.

Hello Kelly,

Please upgrade to the latest official version Q3 and let us know of the outcome. If all other controls are properly updated it must be an old version of Telerik Reporting where ajax support has not yet been introduced.

Best wishes,
