I had Beta 2 installed on my development server, and I've now run the upgrade to yesterday's release. Did anything actually change between releases? The GAC still shows the dll's are version 1.0.0.0. Is there any way I can check to be sure I am in fact running the latest version?

I installed version 1 also to update my Beta 2. I don't see any changes. One change we requested and was told was fixed was when I drag a data field onto report, the value would automatically be set to =Datafield. Am I totally confused?

Indeed, we found a problem with the installation of the first release of the Reporting tool - it will not uninstall the beta automatically, and once installed, it will mess up the beta installation. We are working on a new installer as we speak and we will update the downloadable files as soon as all cases have been tested (CTP, CTP2, Beta1 and Beta2).
For all of you who have not installed the official release yet but have used the beta, please UNINSTALL the beta first! For the rest of you who have installation problems, we will provide detailed instructions on how to clean up the old installations and install the official release.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused. We will be investigating how this problem passed through our stringent tests once we release the new version.

Again, we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We found an issue in the installer that did not correctly remove prior CTP / BETA versions. We have replaced the installation exe files on our server - feel free to download them at your leisure. NOTE: the new installer carries the same version number as before.
For all of you who have used the beta/CTP and got problems with the installation, here are the instructions on how to fix the problem. What you need to do now is get rid of anything that might have been left from Telerik Reporting betas and CTP's and then install the new exe again. Here is what you should do:
- Restart IIS
- Restart SQL Server
- Uninstall the version that you last installed.
- Delete the entire "Reporting1.0" folder. Typically it is in C:\Program Files\Telerik\Reporting1.0.
- Remove all Telerik.Reporting DLL's that are left in the GlobalAssemblyCache (GAC) typically located at C:\Windows\Assembly.
- Remove all Telerik.Reporting DLL's that are left in [VS2005_INSTALL_FOLDER]\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies;
Typically this is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PrivateAssemblies - Download the Telerik Reporting installer from the web-site again and install it.
- If something is still wrong, try running the installer again and select "Repair".
Once again, we apologize for the trouble caused.
