DateTime is set to 1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM, displayed on grid correctly

When the date is displayed on the grid it is:
Fri Oct 25 2013 15:15:09 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time)

When I get it back on the controller method it is:
1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM

Why is it changing the date and time?

From the provided information it seems that the dates are send in incorrect format to the controller - could you please check if the "aspnetmvc" script is included in the project? Also If the script is available we will need runable example where the issue is reproduced to investigate further.

I included the js file but it didn't fix the issue.  I'll get a project for you after I fix the more pressing issue I have which is the 2 dropdownlist ticket I submitted for help a couple of days ago
