Convert Radeditor HTML output to RTF format

hi,  I am evaluating the Radeditor. I see that it gives the HTML output for the content entered into editor. I want to convert this to RTF format before storing into database and while showing editor convert back to html format and show in editor. Please let me know if you have any component which converts your radeditor output to rtf format.

I came across one component called ActiveUp.WebControl and Activeup.RTF, first one is editor and second one is to convert from html to rtf and rtf to html. If radeditor do not have rtf convertion thinking of using activup editor and rtf convertion. so that i have all the components from one vendor. Please reply at the earliest, if we have all these features in telerik component itself.

Hello Venkatesh,

RadEditor is a standard HTML/XHTML editor and it does not offer the requested RTF support out-of-the box. This feature is logged in our ToDo list but we cannot provide an exact timing when it will be implemented.

Currently, you should use some third party tool to convert the produced by RadEditor HTML/XHTM content to RTF.

We are building a ASP.NET web application that will use the Telerik HTML RADEditor. (see http://demos.telerik.com/aspnet-ajax/editor/examples/default/defaultcs.aspx). Our app needs to generate a RTF document using the HTML text the user types into the HTML editor.

The solution needs to ensure that the formatting used in the HTML editor is carried over to the RTF doc.

Also need to make sure the solution converts text with bullets and sub-bullets properly to RTF. For example, consider the text in this table: this:

 

This is bullet 1 This is bullet 1A This is bullet 1B This is bullet 1C This is bullet 2 This is bullet 2A This is bullet 2B

 

The RTF generated for the bullet list above should be preserve the bullet-numbering shown above.

Are there any products available that can do this? Any the work well with Telerik's RADEditor?

Hi Srini,

My suggestion is to search in Google for some free or trial Html to RTF exporting tools that support the requested feature and evaluate them.
