Hello,
I'm using a trial version of Telerik reporting. I have some reports created with active reports and i want to convert them into telerik format.
I have created a new item an I started to nevigate throught the wizard checking the convert from existing report radio button.
The problem is : the browse button is not active.
I have also try this
http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/reporting/general/converting-reports-from-various-versions-of-activereports.aspx
but it is still not active.
I don't understand what I'm doing wrong?

Hi Gica,
As the description of the ActiveReports converter states, you should have the Active Reports installed on your machine in order for the browse button to be active. It is requires as we need to "read" their report, so that we gather information for the convertion.

Hi,
Thank you for the response.
I have installed both active reports 2.0 and 3.0, but the browse button is still not activated.
I have also changed the config file for visual studio according to this link:
http://www.telerik.com/support/kb/reporting/general/converting-reports-from-various-versions-of-crystalreports.aspx
with no results.
Do you have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

Hello gica,
First the link you provided in your last post is for Crystal reports and not for active reports. Second you have not mentioned the most important thing - which version of Active Reports do you have? Note that the Telerik converter is built against v.5.2.1013.2 and if you have this version, you do not need any binding redirects. Another thing to note is that binding redirects are one way only i.e. you cannot use a version older than 5.2.1013.2 - only newer version are accepted.
I've attached a screenshot from our test machine, that shows that the ActiveReports converter is clearly active.
Hope this clears any confusion.

I am having the same issue using a new version of ActiveReports. It is a Release Candidate version at the moment. ActiveReports 6 (version 6.1773.0). The browse button is disabled for me, and I have tried to add the newer version to my config file. Here is the information that I added to the config file for binding redirection
Thanks,
Charlie J.

Hello Charlie,
They have changed the name of the assemblies: ActiveReports3 vs ActiveReports6 and ActiveReports.Viewer3 vs ActiveReports.Viewer6. This way our converter is not aware that ActiveReports are installed, thus we would have to change our converter to look for these assemblies as well. For the time being you would need to stick with v.3.x Active reports if you want to convert them to Telerik Reporting.
Please excuse us for the temporary inconvenience. Your Telerik points have been updated for bringing this to our attention.

Hello Mick Suskovich,
Although we have the upgrade from ActiveReport 6 in our TODO list we still haven't got the chance to work on it.
For the complete list of the new features please see the Telerik Reporting release history and check the roadmap to find what we are currently working on.
