When will we get the ability to fast forward these videos...it's frustrating going back to a video you already watched and having to sit through 75% of it to get the 2 minutes you needed a refresher on :)

Hi all,

Just a general question about an IList. I posted this around the web, but actually with Telerik Forums I'm almost certain I'll get an anwer! :)

I want to remove some duplicates from an IList, but I'm not sure how to do it?
I've a List<Contact> which contains three fields: a name and an emailaddress and a type.

So I use it like this:
contactList.Add(new Contact(item.Name, item.Email, "GMAIL"));

What I want is to remove or mark records which have the same emailaddress.

How can I do such thing within a generic list?

Thanks!
Daniel

Hi guys,
I noticed in the Related Download for video below, the link is showing Viddler error page

Video : http://tv.telerik.com/watch/team-productivity-tools/teampulse-launch
Download Link: http://www.viddler.com/explore/TelerikVideo/videos/1095.flv?vfid=758003594325da

I can still download by removing the vfid parameter though.

I'm curious how others are handling Telerik upgrades in their environment. We have multiple custom applications in our intranet environment using RC ASP.NET Q2 2008. When deciding to move to the later release for new applications, are you mandating that all older applications be upgraded or allow Telerik version inconsistencies?

Hi.  A number of times recently I have been encouraged by Telerik on the forums to use a support ticket for faster turn-around; likewise the time I've seen for turn-around for questions on the forums has gone from 1 day to now 3-6 days for all responses.

I understand this may be do to some internal issue that's not visible to me, such as maybe your support team is short-handed.  Nonetheless, I think encouraging users to use the tickets over forums is a mistake.  For every 1 question I post to the forums I have 3-4 others I answer for myself by searching the web; of those, 90%+ are answered by past posts on the forums.  To my knowledge past support tickets aren't visible to the public.  The more issues that are answered privately the less issues I'll be able to solve on my own.

Basically, what I'm saying is that whatever short-term benefit you're hoping for by using support tickets is probably outweighed by the fact that support costs will go up several fold if people can't search for and answer their own questions.

At the same time, it will dramatically slow down development with Telerik controls, since the 24-hour turnaround time for a support ticket is many times the minutes it takes me to search for and find an answer to my own questions online.  This slowdown will drive away customers and drive up costs (which drives away more customers).

I guess all I'm saying is that I hope you reverse this trend or have a really good reason for it.  I used to work in support, and you're starting on a downward spiral I can't make sense of from my perspective.  I'd really like Telerik to flourish and continue to make great products.

Thanks,
-pb

Hi,

We produce a series of SharePoint iframed web parts that are used on a SharePoint platform. The aspx pages use a combination of Telerik ASP.NET controls, other vendors (legacy) ASP.NET controls and Telerik Silverlight controls.
We are gradually replacing the other vendor legacy ASP.NET controls with Telerik controls so that we have a consistant set of controls from one vendor through the product. This is mainly driven by problems we have managing style across all the controls as they all maintain style in different places.

We are starting a project to provide these web parts on the SharePoint 2010 platform, and one of the outcomes we are looking to achieve (over time) is to centralise style into one place. This style centralisation would include ASP.NET controls, SIlverlight (hopefully) and SharePoint style.
Now along with this we hoping to be able to allow the SharePoint administrators to be able to theme the portal for their needs using the built in theme UI in SharePoint

What I am looking for advice on it how to best achieve this, hopefully by bring all this style back under control of a few (??) style elements that are controlled through the SP2010 theme UI.

Any suggestions or guidence would be most appreciated

Thanks
Craig

Please do something with the Format Code Block settings.

At one time the editor used to make a really good job of formating and colouring code snippets when posting 'em on the forums. But  now they are dreadful. In particular the wrapping makes the code practically unreadable. For a specific example, have a look at this forum thread. The code posted was copied directly from VS2K8.
