Hello all,

Maybe this is a bit off-topic, but thats why we have this 'Miscellaneous' forum, right?

I've a question about when and how to save data before the Postback occurs...

I've a page called Default.aspx. On this page I use a Tabcontrol with a Multipage control. When the Default.aspx page loads, the Tabs and PageViews are dynamically created based on data inside a table.

Also, the active PageView loads a UserControl (Question.ascx) that filters data based on the selected tab.

I want to save the data inside the Question.ascx when a user clicks another tab, because the content of a PageView is gone on each postback, I MUST save the entered data before this Postback occurs... What event on either the Usercontrol or the Page must I use to save the data before the postback?

If I click on a tab, the postback allready has occurred.

I hope someone could help me a bit with this.

Thanks,
Daniel

I'm the kinda guy who, given enough time, would build his own car.
So, I ask, Why tools?
Why not build it all from scratch?
Like when all we had was CGI-Perl.
Or like ASP 3.0.

Maybe it is a control issue.
Knowing exactly what is happening under the hood gives me warm fuzzies.

But, I'd like to hear from other developers who have found a justification for tools. How you have integrated them into your own coding. I don't think I'll ever adopt an all tool approach. I require too much customization.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-tool. I can see an advantage to dragging and dropping. I just remember the junk that hit the streets when MS Visual Basic 3.0 hit the ground.

Has the forum search been changed or am I just going crazy.  What happened to being able to select the particular control forum you want to search in?

Hello telerik,

I just have a question: what is the secret of such a good support system?
Is it the the ticket-system? Then you should sell it as a product :)
Is it the people who work for the company? Then they have a big heart for Telerik...

I was just wondering why some software companies (or others) are just so un-friendly and let you wait such long times...

Well, just letting you know that you are a fine - full of support - company.

Any others who have good tips for setting up a good support service?

We are considering purchasing Telerik for a project we will be starting at my company soon.

Originally the project manager was considering using Infragistics, however it was noted that since we're using very large DataSets (thousands of rows by upwards of thirty columns), and since the data presentation container will need to provide update functionality for each of these rows, this will require ViewState to be enabled.

This in turn will most likely bloat our presentation layer beyond what is acceptable and negatively effect our page performance.

How are these types of problems handled with Telerik controls?

Thanks in advance for any help!

We are developing a new management system for an ERP like project based in Italy and Romania.
We are looking for an experienced r.a.d. ASP.NET Visual Basic programmer to help us build the application framework to make a rich client and interactive AJAX experience highly customizable and parametric.
Best if the developer has something already set to share and to start from.

Interested people can send us their profile  HERE with possibly a link to some live samples of their capabilities too.

Hi all, I am rather new to skinning of the asp.net rad controls and I am having a couple problems.

First of all, I am just toying around with the tools to see what I can accomplish. I have started with a master page with a table that has looks like this.

------------------------
|          Menu          |
------------------------
|   Panel  |   Main    |
|             |             |
------------------------

Yippee for ASCII art.

Anyway the menu is a radMenu contained in a separate user control, the panel is a radPanelBar contained in a separate user control, and the main is where I am loading various other user controls. One of the things I have done is create a control to change the site’s appearance using various skins common to all controls. *** As a side note I would love to see more common skins, I only saw 6 skins that are common to every control. ***

In trying to change the skins I would update the control’s skin property and refresh the page, this caused the controls to loose all styling. A coworker had the same problem and pointed me to a solution where if I linked the appropriate style sheet on the master page then changing skins, it would work. My first question is this: Can I achieve the changing of skins without having to link the style sheet.

Now because I am having to link the style sheets I run into a confliction with the menu and panelbar. When I implemented the menu and included the style sheets for it, my panelbar began to have problems. The panel bar uses ExpandMode=”FullExpandedItem” but now appears as a bulleted list with no expanding happening. When I remove the menu style sheet references on the master page, the panel bar works as intended. My second question is if I have to link the style sheets, how do I avoid this confliction. I have tried to move the links to the menu control page but this does not work either.

I hope I have given enough information to explain my situation but I will further clarify if necessary. Thanks in advance.

I'm considering purchasing a telerik license for web development at my company.  I notice that some of the telerik web controls are available in both the ASP.Net and a DNN package.

Are these the same controls?  Or are there differences between, for example, the Calendar for ASP.Net and the Calendar for DNN?

Specifically -- will the ASP.Net controls work in a DNN module?

Thanks a lot!
