Codedui support for WPF RAD control

In Coded UI builder the spy for RAD button is as shown in attachment("uia.radbutton.jpg") , but the  generated code is showing it as wpf control.
the generated code has this declaration

 

 

 

public WpfButton UIBtnButton

 

 

 

If i playback the recorded code, no actions are working. Can anyone suggest me on this.

Why the RadButton is getting identified as WpfButton??

*VS2012 premium with Q1 2013 is used.

Hello,

Please refer to this article, which illustrates the separation between the different CUIT support levels. Currently RadControls for WPF support level 1. As we do not have custom test ui element classes (which is the prerequisite for level 3), we are using the ones defined by the framework. WpfButton is one of them.

I went through the article but can you guide me on how to extend the CUIT for 3rd party controls. basic steps for one control should be good to go.
As you said wpfbutton is as defined by framework, how can i extend this and make actions to work on wpfbutton?

Hello,

We are up to introduce such extension binaries for some of the controls in our suite. The first ones to get up to level 3 support will be RadGridView, RadTreeListView, RadDataForm, RadDataFilter, RadDataPager, RadPropertyGrid, RadCollectionNavigator, RadCalculator, RadCarousel, RadCalculatorPicker, RadExpressionEditor. They will possibly be available with the incoming SP of Q1.

mean while i found this blog where they talk about MSAA http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh552522.aspx#codegeneration.
Similarly we will get extensions in SP for Q1?

The extensions for the listed controls will possibly be available with the SP in the beginning of April. However, there is small chance to leave them for Q2.

In the http://www.telerik.com/help/wpf/ui_automation_support.html link, it is said that the Rad controls are supported in Q1 2013 release.
So, I have installed that. And also changed VSTS 2010 version to VSTS 2012.
But i didnt find any improvement or change in Coded UI testing of Rad controls. It is showing the same Controls(found using cross hairs) and same generation of code(using Record and play back) as in VSTS 2010.
According to the link provided/ in the blogs posted it should identify the Rad controls right?
Or is that package is helpful only for developers to build the application using rad controls?

Can you please tell me any other method to perform the action on rad controls(click on Radbutton, rad grid view, etc) in Coded UI?

 Actually this is a bit outdated article. We will do our best to revise it asap. Meanwhile, you can refer to this one. May I ask you to continue the support communication in the other thread of yours, where you would be able to receive some more specific information about RadButton.
