Hi, I'm facing problem with latest reporting (Q3 2012). I'm trying to format charts on one report, but everytime I save and build, those changes are reverted as if I did nothing.
What I'm trying to change is to:
- hide series labels
- change series empty value display type
- change PlotArea dimension properties (margins, etc.)
- change display mode of legend and its positioning
I'm using VS2008, fully patched. In this project, I use Reporting Q3 2012, but I have installed Reporting Q2 2009 SP1 and Reporting Q1 2012.
Is there any way how to fix it myself/known workaround. Thanks in advance.

This is a known issue when the Skin property of the Chart item is set. Please, reset it and try again. If you want to use a skin and make additional modifications to the chart's appearance you have to do this programmatically after the InitializeComponent call in the report's constructor.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.

The Chart item is based on the charting engine from the original asp.net RadChart control and is no longer under development.

I do not understand your comment that this is not going to be fixed.
I just renewed my subscription yesterday. Now I find out that something like this will not be addressed. Why pay for updates?
I am especially frustrated as I was following along the Dashboard Training Video and spent over an hour thinking that I was doing something wrong.
- Is Reporting going to be discontinued?
- Reporting will continue, but charting is dead branch and will not be touched anymore
- Or are you going to upgrade charting used in Reporting to up to date version used in, let's say, ASP.NET AJAX controls?
What you say does make sense only in these three cases. If the latter is not going to happen, using Telerik Reporting would be just waste of time and money.
Thanks for clarification
Daniel
I am sorry for the confusion.
It is only the Chart item which will not be developed any more. Instead we will provide a new chart which will be much more integrated with the reporting engine and will have an enhanced functionality as the current one imposes many limitations. The new item is under development and will appear in the beginning of the next year.
All the best,
