I am servicing an application I did not write. It was written using Telerik UI for Winforms.  I was asked to add a new checkbox. Easy enough, or so I thought. I went to the toolbox and dragged the radcheckbox from telerik UI over to my form and got an error message.I have attached the entire error. The error is telling me that 'Telerik.WinControls.UI' already exists in the project.

My dev environment is straight forward enough. The application seems to have been written in .NET Framework 4 and I am using Visual Studios 2013. Anybody encounter this problem? What could be the fix?

Would love it if people would put answers in the body of their response rather than linking....that link is dead and this is no help to anyone now.

Hi, Varun,

Since this is quite an old post, could you please specify more details about the exact problem that you are currently facing with the latest version of the Telerik UI for WinForms suite? Thus, we would get better understanding of the precise case and provide further assistance. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

In case you have recently upgraded, I would like to ask you to carefully check the references to all Telerik controls in your project and make sure that they are the same version considering the suffix as well (.20 or .40). Better yet, you can remove all references and add them anew by using the DLLs from your fresh installation. Delete the license.licx file. After that, you should rebuild your project, close Visual Studio and open it again to make sure that no references are kept in the memory by Visual Studio.

I hope this information helps. If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact me.
