Hi All,

Could someone answer the question on Barcode? I know that telerik support the barcode on Reporting. But my requirement is to use the barcode in Winform. Does Telerik Barcode engine support this, if not how do I use the Barcode other than in Reporting? Looking forwards to your suggestions.

Thanks
Faisal.

Hi Faisal Moideen,

Currently Telerik does not offer support for Bar codes in WPF. Can you share with us some more details about your scenario and why Telerik Reporting is not good fir for your application?

Hi , Thank you for the reply,

My requirement is to display the barcode on the student id cards. We have a WPF application that displays the student information and the student identity card can be printed out of it. At present we do not display the barcode on it,
Is there any workaround with Teletik barcode engine to generate any picture format so that i can place it in the id card.

Thanks for your help.
Faisal.

Hi Faisal Moideen,

The Barcode engine is part of Telerik Reporting. But you can do something very simple.

You can create a very simple and small report with only one barcode on it. The report will be as large as the barcode item.

Then you can bind and export this report at run-time to JPEG or some other suitable picture format. What you will have would be an image with the bar-code rendered inside it.

You can then use this image and add it to your thing in the WPF application.

To learn more about bar-codes and exporting please take a look at these:
Barcodes Example
Barcode Item
Connecting to Data
Programmatic Control of Reports

I hope this helps.

Sincerely yours,
