Hello,
I'm using the Progress Telerik UI for WFP sample application (R1 2021 SP1) to review the capabilities of RadNotifyIcon.
Unfortunately, the balloon features are not working at all for me. For example, navigating to the "Notify Icon Configurator" sample app, the "Show balloon" and "Hide balloon" both do nothing.
Everything else seems fine - the icon is visible, and the popup features are working. Just the balloon messages are not.
I'm running the latest build of Windows 10 with two 4k monitors are 200% scaling.
Any thoughts on a fix or workaround would be appreciated.

I just tested the Telerik WPF demo app on a machine with a single monitor, and the balloon notifications work correctly there.
So this appears to be an issue with screen boundary calculations.
Hello Mark,
Thank you for the shared information.
I tested the RadNotifyIcon Configurator example with a setup of two monitors with 200% DPI, however on my end the balloons are displayed as intended.
That said, I can suggest two things, which you can try on your end:
- Use an icon with bigger dimensions (width/height). This can help in high dpi scenarios as Windows will scale down the icon, however it will not scale it up.
- Try out the other overloads of the ShowBalloonTip method.
If the above suggestions prove unhelpful, may I ask you to check out the sample project attached to my reply? I created a small project isolating just the RadNotifyIcon to test it separately. Can you reproduce the same behavior with it?
I am looking forward to your reply.

Hello Vladimir,
Thanks for looking into this. It sounds like there might be an issue with my development environment, since you're unable to reproduce the problem.
I've resolved my immediate requirement by using RadDesktopAlert (in combination with RadNotifyIcon), but will try your suggestions soon.
Thanks again!
