Article information Article relates to RadComboBox v2.0+ Created by Nick, Telerik Last modified June 28, 2006HOW-TO Filter the items in a combobox which uses Load on demand, depending on a value from another combobox on the pageSOLUTION In the current version of RadComboBox when you force the control in Load on Demand mode, you can access the settings for the current combobox instance only - meaning that you can not obtain the values of other controls on the page by directly referencing them. This limitation is due to the specific nature of the callback mechanism.Luckily, there is a workaround - you can save the value for the first combobox in a hidden field on the page and then pass it to the ItemsRequested event of the second combo through the e.Text parameter. Thus you can filter the items in the second combobox according to the value of the hidden field. Please review the code sections of the KB article for further implementation details.
