Migration Tools from RS to RS.NET

Server Agents Manager in RS.NET

The introduction of the Server Agents Manager view in Report Server .NET provides a centralized intuitive interface for managing Scheduling Server Agents across multiple machines. This feature will allow users to view all configured agents, their statuses and the tasks they are currently handling, allowing them to add, delete and modify agent settings or cancel ongoing tasks. This provides greater control and visibility over scheduled tasks, report processing, data caching operations and overall server environment, ultimately ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.  

GraphQL Native Support with Dedicated Data Source Component

We are now introducing the GraphQLDataSource component, which allows the report author to retrieve data from GraphQL APIs. The Standalone Report Designer has a dedicated wizard with intuitive step by step instructions that guide through the process of creating or editing the data source. It enables seamless integration of GraphQL queries, allowing you to pull data efficiently from GraphQL endpoints, simplifying setup and optimizing data retrieval, to ensure smooth report generation from GraphQL-powered APIs. 

Report Engine Cache and Assets Storage for RS.NET Based on Microsoft.Data.SqlClient

The SQL server-targeting storage implementation for Report Server .NET has been updated to use the newer Microsoft.Data.SqlClient, ensuring better performance, compliance and compatibility with modern SQL Server features. This storage is both used when caching the generated report documents and when storing all the assets of the Server, e.g., report definitions, data connections, users, etc. This enhancement aligns with the latest .NET best practices, providing improved reliability, optimizing data access, reducing report generation times and improving overall efficiency of the storage.

Raw Data View & Export

Report data items and their data sources now allow report authors to download the data they're bound to. This feature lets your users to quickly verify data accuracy and gain deeper insights into the underlying information. Available in the Standalone Report Designer.
