Telerik Document Processing

AI-Assisted PDF Integration with Copilot and MCP

New feature

We’re introducing a GenAI-powered Copilot Extension and MCP Server to streamline how developers integrate and use the PdfProcessing API. This enhancement delivers intelligent, AI-assisted guidance and secure, compliant embedding—modeled after the successful implementations in Telerik UI for Blazor.

By reducing manual configuration and guesswork, this feature accelerates onboarding, improves productivity, and ensures developers can confidently build with DPL in modern application environments.

Word Processing: GenAI-Powered Document Insights

New feature

We’re extending our GenAI-powered document insights capabilities to Word documents, enabling users to extract meaningful summaries and context-aware answers directly from document content. This enhancement eliminates the need for manual review and analysis, offering a faster, more intelligent way to understand and interact with Word files.

The feature builds on the foundation established with PDF insights and will be showcased through an interactive online demo.

PDF Processing: Enhanced Accessibility and PDF/UA Compliance

New feature

We’re expanding accessibility support in our PDF Processing library to enable the creation of fully compliant PDF/UA documents. This enhancement allows developers to generate accessible PDFs directly within Document Processing Libraries. Supports tagging, figure attribution, and structured content without relying on external tools.

This update ensures that documents meet the accessibility standards required by governmental and public sector organizations, promoting inclusivity and reducing manual compliance efforts.

Excel Library: Optimized Cell Formulas Calculation Chain

New feature

We’re significantly improving the performance and responsiveness of our Excel processing engine by introducing a calculation chain algorithm. This enhancement replaces the current event-driven recalculation logic with a smarter, dependency-aware system that updates cells in an optimal and, where possible, parallel manner.

With this update, spreadsheets will open faster, recalculate more efficiently, and scale better with complex formulas bringing our Excel library in line with modern expectations for performance and accuracy.

Cross-Platform Text Measurer

New feature
We’re introducing a new Cross-Platform Text Measurer built on SkiaSharp and HarfBuzzSharp to unify and simplify text measurements across all supported platforms. This enhancement ensures consistent layout behavior, supports complex scripts and bidirectional text, and aligns closely with existing rendering outputs in both DPL and Telerik Reporting. It’s a foundational step toward a more maintainable and performant text layout engine.

.NET 10 Support

Improvement
We’re ensuring full compatibility of Telerik products with the official .NET 10 release. Developers will be able to adopt .NET 10 without delays or manual testing, with all supported document processing libraries - validated and updated as needed. This improvement helps teams transition smoothly to the latest .NET version while maintaining support for earlier versions.

Excel & Word APIs Coding Assistant (MCP Server)

New feature
We’re expanding the DPL Coding Assistant to support Excel and Word document APIs. Developers will be able to generate and integrate code for SpreadProcessing, SpreadStreamProcessing, and WordsProcessing with the same streamlined experience already available for PdfProcessing. This update simplifies onboarding, reduces manual setup, and ensures secure, compliant usage in enterprise environments.

Excel Library: GenAI-Powered Document Insights

New feature

We’re extending our GenAI-powered document insights capabilities to Excel documents, enabling users to extract meaningful summaries and context-aware answers directly from document content. This enhancement eliminates the need for manual review and analysis, offering a faster, more intelligent way to understand and interact with Excel files.

The feature builds on the foundation established with PDF insights and will be showcased through an interactive online demo.

API Support for Timestamped PDF Signatures

New feature

We’re adding support for applying digital signatures to PDF documents using a TimeStamp server. This will allow developers to programmatically sign documents with a trusted timestamp, ensuring long-term validity and compliance with digital signature standards. The new API will integrate with external TimeStamp Authority (TSA) services and provide fine-grained control over the signing process.

AutoFilter Support in SpreadStreamProcessing

New feature

We’re adding AutoFilter support to the SpreadStreamProcessing library to simplify data filtering in streamed Excel files. This feature will allow users to define filter criteria through the API and automatically hide rows that don’t match, as data is added to the stream. The resulting Excel file will include the applied filter, improving accuracy and saving time.
