Is there a working theme builder for Telerik MVC components?  The "http://themebuilder.telerik.com/" seems to output themes for Rad components (Telerik UI for AJAX, I believe) which won't work with the MVC components.  The "http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/themebuilder/" one isn't really fully functional as all it allows you to do is change some colors, and even the "selected" color isn't wired correctly.  The default themes in my opinion are ugly, with really ugly colors.  But the Telerik MVC CSS is so nested, and inter-connected, it's practically impossible to get a good looking and consistent custom site by overriding a few CSS tags.  I change a color in my grid, but now mu panelbar is ugged up, if I change a selected value in my panelbar, now my menu is ugged up.  What I really need is an in-depth tutorial on changing themes without f****** everything else up.

So... Is there?.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your open and honest feedback!

As you know the components of UI for ASP.NET MVC are server wrappers of the Kendo UI widgets and the same themes are shared by both suites. That's why the Kendo Theme Builder produces themes for both suites and there isn't another builder for the MVC suite.

Nevertheless, I have good news that we are working on a new theme builder for Kendo/MVC that will be similar to the AJAX one - http://themebuilder.telerik.com. The release date is not yet available, but I can share that the theme creation and modification are refined and simplified as well as you will be able to choose from predefined swatches.

Since your feedback is valuable for us, can you please post your requirements in the Kendo User Voice portal? So that your fellow developers can comment and vote for them.

Best regards,

Rumen

I know you said the release date is not yet available, but can you answer if it'll be available before May?  I ask because my subscription expires in May, and whether or not I renew our 2 licenses (and add a third) will depend on how easily it is to re-style all of these components.  Right now it is my biggest headache in trying to re-style components.

I got information from the colleagues working on this project that it should be ready till May'2017, but they are not 100% sure because side effects could always occur.

Nevertheless, if you have any styling related questions, you can always open a support ticket and ask for assistance.

Best regards,
