visual studio 2019 error on add new reference

Visual studio 19 throws error “Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component” on adding reference in web forms project.

Hi Zain,

Thank you for providing the screenshot. Unfortunately, this is likely related to Visual Studio and not something we can support. Additionally, after looking online there seems to be several causes for this. 

As a result, I recommend submitting the feedback to the Visual Studio team using the Feedback Button as shown in the following screenshot.

To ensure the Visual Studio team receives the most appropriate information, I also encourage using their screen recording and log aggregation functionality.
