When View Details is enabled and details are shown for docx files, the TYpe is showing as 'Text'.
This happens in the online demo:https://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/filemanager/index
Go to the documents folder and select WordDocument with View Details enabled to see example

Hello, Alan,
The behavior is expected, as there is a method in the template that generates the Preview Pane that returns the Type ( folder, image, txt ) based on the item's extension. If you wish to display the extensions instead of the type, you can use the previewpane.singlefiletemplate option to change the content of the Preview Pane. Here is a small example for reference.
