Very special chart

 Hi there,

once again i have to build a very special chart,lets call this a sales chart, based on a daily base.

In the attachment you can see how far i came.

the code for that is

now i have to mark special date regions with a comment, 

in the coded example it's the variable data2

i tried

but it seems they dont work horizontally

selection is not made for multiple sections

is there another solution to archieve my goal?

Hello Mathias,

The plot bands approach is the way to go -- you can map the data to the plot bands format, and make sure that you add the plot bands to the correct axis. As for the labels, you can use different colors for the plot bands; I'm afraid that labeling the plot bands is not supported at this time. Here is a Dojo snippet that does this.

Hi alex,

labeling is important for this, 

so i did something dirty (editet the svg so labels are in the image-export :) )

i matched them over the color

as i've seen i am not the only one to like labels

are there plans to add such a feature in the future?

This is not on our current roadmap, but you can submit this as a feature request on UserVoice, so that it is considered for implementation in a future release.
