Hi,

I am evaluating the Telerik Reports to use instead of Active Reports. I've managed to get everything working but I'm having an issue with printing long receipts.

Short receipts aren't a problem and work perfectly fine. However, if I try and print a very long receipt i.e. 15xA4 in length for an end of day till report via receipt, it prints OK the first time but thereafter ALL receipts print a blank page.

Restarting the software doesn't fix the receipt printing - you have to completely reboot your computer for the receipt print to be able to print properly again.

This happens in my demo software, furthermore it also does the same thing whilst using Telerik Report Designer - you'll be able to replicate the problem easily.

Is there a way around this please as I can't move over whilst this isn't working?

I forgot to add specs:

- Evaluating Telerik Reports 2020 R2

- Tested on receipt printers Maxatec 200E and TSP100

- Whilst Telerik stopped working completely other programs could print to the receipt printer i.e. Notepad and Windows test print

- I checked the "Print on continuous (roll) paper" on the report

- Stops working from 3xA4 height and longer

- 1. print long receipt, 2. print long receipt again - stop working, prints a blank receipt. Unable to print any other receipt unless reboot the PC

Hi,

I thought I would try and give more of an accurate example of the size of the receipt it accepts then stops working. Attached are images of receipts:

#1 - Printed OK at 31cm
#2 - Printed OK at 31cm
#3 - Printed OK 41cm
#4 - Printed OK 41cm
#5 - 41cm - missing top and bottom
#6 - blank receipt

Needed to reboot computer for any receipt to print properly again.

Hope this helps exaplain further for you to be able to replicate.

Hello Matt,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with printing. I have tested the described steps with Epson TM-T20II, however, I am afraid that I was not able to reproduce the issue. 

There are some similar issues that have been reported after the Windows updates. Here are other links to threads discussing them:

Windows 10 KB5000802, KB5001567 causing new critical printing issue

Note that the latter adds as problematic also other updates released between March 9 and 16, 2021.

Here is also a YouTube video on the problem, showing how you may fix it - Bluescreen when printing, Windows 10, March 21 Update Bug (KB5000802, KB5000803, KB5000808).

Maybe you can send us the report with some sample data in CSV or JSON format, so we can test it again on our end.

I will be looking forward to receiving an update from you.

Thanks again for your help.

It certainly was Windows update KB5000802. I uninstalled it, worked perfectly. Reinstalled it, didn't work at all.

FYI Windows has released another update today which on first look seems to have resolved the issue KB500164.
