Hi:

I'm trying to make a really simple report to print in a 4-different-parts per page document.

So my report has only a Detail, you can see it in "reportdetail.png".

This detail HAS TO BE 7,6cm because every page will be cutted in 4 different parts and all of them must be written the same way (I mean, every field should be in the same place (the first one at 2cm X 2cm Y etc...).

The result is really confusing because it doesn't leaves those 7,6cm for each detail and you can see the result in reportprint.png

As you can see, every detail is different from each other, this is especially seen in the last part of the report (see at that LARGE margin when it should be almost at the bottom of the report.

Am I doing anything wrong? How should I do this?? Thanks in advance!!

Hi Fernando,

We cannot confirm just by the screenshot that the size you have defined is not respected. In fact report sections cannot shrink automatically, so such behavior would be highly unexpected. To easily pinpoint the problem, set borders for the detail section and apply some different color, as currently both the detail and report backgrounds are white.

If you are still unable to identify the problem, please provide us with a sample report that exhibits the problem and we would advise you accordingly.

On a side note, does it make any difference if you set the UseNativePrinting of the Silverlight viewer to false?

Hi Steve:

On fact I'm with "UseNativePrinting" set as false already (with UseNativePrinting as true it was INCREDIBLY slow).

I attach some pictures and captures more to show the problem.

I need to print this in a custom page size (139mm x 304mm) and, as you can see, 76mm are allocated for each part (4 parts in each page).

I send you a picture with the actual result just now... I can send you a pdf if you want too.

Thanks in advance.

I think this was because without the native printing the default option is to adapt the printing to the page size...

Hi Fernando,

From the printed.jpg we see that the Detail section has to be higher - because it is not high enough every subsequent section will be rendered higher than the expected. You can see this in the attached jpg.

Additionally please have in mind that even if you set the margins to 0 there are still hard margins, which depend on your printer and they cannot be avoided. Check what your hard margins are in order to make proper calculation of the height of the page and height of the detail section.

If the problem persists please send us a runnable sample that exhibits the problem - this will help us advise you accordingly.

Kind regards,
