Transition From Current Values Instead of Zero

For a chart that refreshes it's data regularly, is there a way to have the transition move from current value to new value, instead of zero up to the new value?  Setting transition to false works fine for small incremental changes, but larger changes would benefit from a transition from old to new value and I could not find an example of a setting that would accomplish that.

Hi,

I see what you mean. We're planning a "real-time" API that will make incremental changes faster, easier and prettier.

For now, we can only recommend to turn off transitions after the initial rendering.

I noticed the last response to this question was about a year ago and was just wondering if there's been any improvement in this area?  Currently we disable transitions after the first load but it would be really nice to have the transition from the current values.

That's absolutely necessary. This is the biggest weakness of Kendo Chart as of now: animations. The only animations offered are really looking, and the fact that there is no way to transition between one set of values to the other make it largely useless.

 Please add this instead of adding new chart types :) !

I tend to agree here, this will be a welcome improvement to the overall feel of the widget.
We have some ideas on how to implement this feature, but we're still not quite there yet.
