To Use Autocomplete in Inline edit

Hi,

I'm trying to use autocomplete box for inline edit from gantt - grid. I'm not able to use the custom editor features available(like client template for column) that are available for grid.I would like to combine the autocomplete functionality with the inline edit functionality inside Grid. Is this possible and if so, how can I implement this?

Hello Keerthana,

Currently only task templates are implemented for the Gantt, and they can be used to customize the data displayed in the tasks (except summary tasks) or their appearance. The following demo showcases this functionality. As for column templates they are not supported. There is a feature request logged in our public Feedback Portal for adding template support for the TreeList section. It hasn't been approved yet so we can suggest voting for it.

Thank you for the reply. I would like to know is there any other way by which I can implement autocomplete box in the column. Task templates can be applied only to the task in gantt chart portion and cannot used in columns.

Hi Keerthana,

Implementing AutoComplete in the Gantt columns is not accomplishable through configuration or the widget's API and achieving this custom behavior would require modifying the source code.

Hi Manoj,

As the Gantt widget does not support templates for its columns, placing a widget in one of them would not be possible. If you think that such feature would add value to the widget, I would recommend you to cast your vote for the respective Feature request.
