Hello Luiz Carlos B. Schneider,

Currently, Visual Style Builder does not support theming of the RadForm. This will be implemented for one of our future releases.

If you have additional questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

Hi Nikolay, hi Telerik,

I have to apply the company's styleguide to the application.
this includes the form itself too.
are you saying, i cant customise the style/theme of the actual form while i am able to customise the look and feel of all my controls?

I need a workaround, please help me getting an acceptable solution.

In which future release is this planned to be implemented? an when is this release due?

Thanks

Hello Christian,

Theming support for the RadForm in Visual Style Builder will be introduced in our Q2 2008 release, scheduled for the end of July. You can find additional information about the release in our Roadmap for WinForms.

For the time being there are two workarounds I would suggest:
  1. Manually modify an existing XML theme file. I have attached the theme file for the ControlDefault theme. There, you can alter the colors and other properties concerning the visual representation.
  2. Set properties for the visual representation by code. I would recommend this approach, as you may find it the easier one. As you know, RadForm consists of elements with visual representation. You can observe the hierarchy of these elements and their properties using our RadControlSpy tool. Then, you can set these which you need by code.

If you have additional questions, feel free to contact me.

Hi,

OK, the Q2 2008 release is out, but I can't find the theming support for RadForms using Visual Style Builder.

I'm using Visiual Studio 2008.

How do you invoke the Visual Style Builder for RadFroms using the Q2 2008 release?

Thanks for your time...

Hi Tim,

In our Q2 2008 release we have theming support for RadForm. You should first open Visual Style Builder. A link to this application is located at Start >> Programs >> Telerik >> RadControls for WinForms [version] >> Visual Style Builder. Then, in the application you should navigate to File >> Load Control >> Telerik.WinControls.UI >> RadForm.

However, currently, we have an issue with the theming support of the titlebar portion of RadForm. It will be addressed in one of our next versions.

If you have additional questions, feel free to contact me.

Kind regards,
Nikolay
