I am using telerik version Q3 2012. I want to upgrade some of my reports to new version.(not all of them). So that I want to keep my old version of telerik.
When I install new version of telerik, I can't see telerik reporting tools in my visual studio.(I got both old and new version in my system)
How can I create a new project with new version of telerik with tools in visual studio? ( I want copy some reports from project to new project without creating from scratch)

Hello,

You can install major versions side by side on your machine. If you use Telerik Control Panel, from  Options (right upper corner) you can select to keep major versions in parallel. Otherwise, the msi files (the offline installers) will not remove the previous Telerik Reporting installation.

In Visual Studio you will be able to work only with the Toolbox items of the latest existing installation of Telerik Reporting. If the project uses earlier version, the VS Toolbox will not be loaded with the reporting items, but still you can use the designer.

In a single project you should use just one Telerik Reporting version, which can be ensured by Running the Upgrade Wizard. The Upgrade Wizard will list all existing Telerik Reporting installations on the machine, suitable for the target framework version in the project (as of Q2 2013 Telerik Reporting is built against .NET4).

If when you create a new project using the latest installed version of Telerik Reporting on your machine, the VS Toolbox is not loaded with the reporting items, please test the steps in the Telerik Reporting Toolbox items are missing KB article (the given paths should be updated for the version of Visual Studio you use). Support for Visual Studio 2012 is added as of Q1 2012 SP1, for Visual Studio 2013 as of Q3 2013.

I hope this information helps you.

Regards,
Stef
