Hi all,

I have installed Telerik controls first and then installed Telerik reporting on win 7 64bit but only telerik report are not showing in visual studio 2008 and 2010 both.

Kindly let me know how to resolve this issue , I have to develop sample report and give the demo as my company is willing to purchase any RAD controls, I have proposed Telerik controls as I'm familiar with it.

Thanks

Leo

Hi Leo,

When you say "telerik report are not showing in visual studio" do you refer to the report item templates or to the report items in the Visual Studio Toolbox? If the first, there was such a problem in the Q1 2012 release that has been addressed in the subsequent internal build available for download in your account, upgrade to resolve the issue.
If the latter, please follow the instructions from the Telerik Reporting Toolbox items are missing KB article.

Hello,

Thanks for the additional information. Indeed you've hit the problem that slipped into the Q1 2012 release where the item templates are not available for VB.NET and web site projects. Upgrading to the latest internal build would resolve this issue.

Please excuse us for the inconvenience.

All the best,
Steve

Hello Bhushan,

Telerik Report template no longer exist for web site projects (due to several limitations of web site projects). Our suggestion is to use web application or add the reports to a class library as advised in the Solution Structure help article.

The article above about "Telerik Reporting Toolbox items are missing" is missing!  It gives a 404 error.

All my report toolbox items are missing in VS2012.  How do I fix this?

I have already tried Reset Toolbox and deleting "C:\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0\toolbox.tbd"

Hi all, I think we've found a problem with the Telerik grid control. When loading in a large number of items with pagination on (5 per page). Then showing all items. The sort no longer seems to work on fields.

Not sure if you can reproduce this.

Hello Kiran,

Telerik Reporting does not include a grid control. If you refer to the Table item, it has its own Sortings collection ordering data based on the set criteria - Ordering Data. The report will be paged based on the set PageSettings - Understanding Pagination.

If you refer to Telerik Kendo UI grid, please check the settings illustrated here - Grid / Basic usage. To get more information about Kendo UI grid, please use the correct forum or submit a support ticket with selected Kendo UI as product of interest.

Stef

Hello Reddy,

Generally, the List detail section is generated for each data record of the List DataSource. The design-time size of the List is respected and can grow vertically but will not shrink. The List may also grow horizontally if there are column groups in the List.

I suspect that the List and the repot item in it are higher than necessary, hence the big distance between the two data rows. You may set borders to the items to check their sizes.

Feel free also to send us a runnable report for local investigation.

Todor
