Hello,
You should be able to explore everything you need from the demo projects. Have a look at the demos that are stored on your PC that you installed the telerik controls on, and you will find all the examples, including code.

You should use a small image with transparent background that will fit in the RadApplicationMenuButton. Please refer to the attached image that follows these requirements.
