I am a little frustrated with the RadForm and the fact that the styles I am applying are not sticking......

  1. I created a basic winform and change it to inherit from Telerik.WinForms.RadFrom
  2. EnableTheming = False
  3. FormElement/ClientFillPrimative editor, Under "Office Glass Rect" I choose the QuickTheme "Black"
  4. The form looks the way I want it to in the designer  yeah! but alas
  5. I save the form, close it, and then reopen it in the designer...and it is an ugly blue with no rectangle.....
  6. The changes I am making are not staying?????

Any help please...

as a quick follow-up, if I manually edit the designer.vb file and add the features, they stay....therefore it is an issue with the designer integration....

ANd also, if i had changed them manually, then open the form again, and edit in the properties window....ALL of the customizations I made in the designer.vb code disappear and I have to start again.....argh

I am using:
  • Vista Ultimate 64bit
  • Visual Studio 2008 Professional
  • Quadcore E6600 machine with 4GB RAM

Hello Clint,

We are sorry to hear about your troubles.

It seems that you are trying to style the form through code. While we offer this as an option, RadForm does not support full style management through its objects yet. The best way to style the form currently is to use the themes styling. We will improve the styling mechanism soon.

The second issue with the serialization of the UI tree is known and is being addressed at the moment. It requires a complicated design time serializer, which will take us a couple of months to complete. It will probably be available for our Q2 2008 release.

Sincerely yours,
