Standalone Report Designer Licensing

I understand that licensing terms for Telerik Reporting have recently changed.

Does this change affect distribution of the Report Designer? I have not found any reference to that in the documentation.  Based on what I had read in your forums, documentation, and blogs in the past, the Report Designer was freely distributable.  I would have expected any change to be reflected in your Licensing FAQ.

Thank you for reaching out.

The licensing terms regarding the distribution of the Standalone Report Designer included with Telerik Reporting remain unchanged. You can continue to freely redistribute the Standalone Report Designer to your end-users or report authors as part of your solution. This is covered under the royalty-free redistribution rights granted by your Telerik Reporting license.

The official license agreement explicitly states that the Standalone Report Designer is redistributable - End user license agreement for Progress Telerik Reporting.

The redistribution rights do not apply to the Visual Studio-integrated Report Designer, which requires a licensed installation of Telerik Reporting on each machine.

Regarding the Licensing FAQ Updates. Your observation about the documentation and Licensing FAQ not reflecting any changes is correct. There have been no recent updates to the redistribution policy for the Standalone Report Designer, which is why you do not see changes in those resources.
