I want to sort rows and columns by values (not fieldnames).
One way to do that is like it's done by DevExpress (https://demos.devexpress.com/ASPxPivotGridDemos/OLAP/Browser.aspx + see attached screenshot). By right clicking a field i can choose for with field, row, column and measurement i want to sort. But even this solution could be more userfriendly.
Another more direct solution would be to sort by clicking on a measurement field or if there is only one, on a fieldname.
Both are just suggestions. But the functionality of sorting by values is really relevant.
I couldn't find any solution for this build-in in Kendo UI. Therefor this is a feature request/suggestion.

I added a feature request for this:
http://kendoui-feedback.telerik.com/forums/127393-telerik-kendo-ui-feedback/suggestions/8987722-sort-rows-and-columns-by-values
For the time being, the PivotGrid allows to sort the dimensions only by label values. That being said, you can sort the tuples of one dimension. Sorting by values is not supported.
One possible workaround is to modify the generated MDX and apply the required changes there.
With regards to the feature requests, I would suggest you post your suggestion in our UserVoice portal. Thus more people can comment and vote for the particular feature.

Sorry guys @ Telerik,
that this feature is still not implemented is a shame.
For what reasons should users/developers use a pivotgrid control?!?! To ANALYZE data. But if I have go through to hundreds of rows manually only to find TOP measures like sales, costs, etc.... then this/your control is absolutely useless!!!
Sure guys, I love you and your products, but sometimes your answers of "make a suggestion in our UserVoice" is very frustrating.
Your PivotGrid looks really good and on the other side nobody will ever use this control because of this limitation (and uses Excel...)

Daniel
Our roadmap and priorities depend largely on the business value and customer demand for specific components and features, so I thank you for sharing your point of view. I completely understand your desire to use a component that features all the functionality required for your projects, and I regret to find out that this is currently not the case.
Based on our communication with clients, I can confirm that the demand for PivotGrid enhancements is lower at this point, so we prefer to focus on tasks with higher priority and value for our customers.
On the other hand, we have the so called Feature Acceleration program. It allows a customer to negotiate certain component or functionality to be implemented on demand or sooner than our roadmap implies. Feature acceleration fits well in scenarios where a feature or enhancement is important for an application's success, but it is not planned to be available at the time of the application's completion.
Let us know if you are interested in pursuing this option at any time, and we will put you in touch with our Professional Services team to discuss the exact specifications, timeframe and pricing.

Dimo
