Hi,

We(my enterprise) are using TFS since several years mostly for source code versionning.

We are now starting to use it for project management, with bugs and tasks.

I'm looking for a good tools which allows me to manage/assign tasks  to my team members. I know basics functionality of agile developement but I'm not an expert :(.

I installed on one of our test server the trial version of teampulse, but I've some questions:

  • Where can I create "tasks"? I've created a project based on Microsoft Agile, we have tasks into it. But in your interface, where can I create them? I saw that I can create "Tasks" as a sub-item of a bug, but often when we create a project, we do not have bugs, but tasks to accomplish.
  • Can we deactivate some "zone" ? For now we don't use personas/risks
  • Is there an interface that we can give to our customer to reports bugs? It has to have the simpliest interface
  • What is the quickiest way you provides for developer to indicate that a bug or a task is in progress/done?

Thank you for your answers

Hello Julien,

I'm glad that you've decide to evaluate TeamPulse for project management. You can find my answers bellow your questions.

  • Where can I create "tasks"? I've created a project based on Microsoft Agile, we have tasks into it. But in your interface, where can I create them? I saw that I can create "Tasks" as a sub-item of a bug, but often when we create a project, we do not have bugs, but tasks to accomplish.
At the moment you can create tasks only in the context of Story or Bug. The main idea behind not having stand alone tasks is that every task should have some business value and the way we capture that is through Story or Bug. In the future we are going to support the scenario that tasks can be outside of Story or Bug.

  • Can we deactivate some "zone" ? For now we don't use personas/risks
At the moment we don't support to deactivate / hide some functionality. We are going to support much more customizations in the upcoming versions of TeamPulse as custom fields, custom types and your scenario (custom UI).

  • Is there an interface that we can give to our customer to reports bugs? It has to have the simpliest interface
Yes, you can use the Feedback Portal.
  • What is the quickiest way you provides for developer to indicate that a bug or a task is in progress/done?
The most easy way to change the status of an item is on the Story Board or Task Board.

If you have other questions do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,

Ok.

Then I can't use your tools, because:
1. Tasks is the most needed things(maybe more than bug management).
2. Your UI for managing bug/task states is just not adequate. Drag&drop is not adequate at all here
