Are there any known PhoneGap + Kendo Mobile applications available for download from the App/Play Stores? I am evaluating Kendo as a framework for building web-based native applications, and would love to be able to try out some real-world examples.

That's not a great sample, one user giving feedback of one star saying it doesn't work :-)
I wouldn't let that put anyone off trying Kendo Mobile though, it has some very nice features.

That is an understatement. that is terrible.
images no not load, there are dirty pictures. Not sure what features are on display from phonegap. jquery mobile has a phonegap api demo. When can I see something like that?
What doesn't Kendo have a couple full featured apps in the app stores, it would make a ton of sense.
I am really enjoying the asp.net ajax part of things, but not love yet for Kendo.

I am developer of the application. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with this app. I can try and explain what happened.
We had a working version uploaded to the Google Play but didn't activate it. So, the preview version got publically released. We have activated the right APK file. However, the Google Play is taking time to remove the old one from cache. The new file is about 1.9 MB and once that starts displaying on the Google Play you may want to test it again.
Please also understand that this is "not" an official Kendo Mobile app.. I built it for my community in less than a week (working part time). So there are some rough edges.
