The way Telerik is dealing with checkboxes in ReportViewer/ReportDesigner appears not to be up to the standard elsewhere in this excellent product. The only checkboxes available seem to be bluish bitmaps (or alternately our own graphics).  Are there plans to make available the option to use a font-based checkmark (e.g. Wingdings)?  I am working on a project that creates a printout that contains many, many checkboxes and the graphic checkboxes make for an ugly page. Alternate suggestions welcome, thanks.

Hello Doug,

Checkbox items are rendered as images with text next to them, thus the font can be applied to Checkbox.Text property only.

To display checkmark characters from the required font you can use a TextBox item and specify the expression that will resolve the textBox value to checked or unchecked character. The attached report demonstrates this approach (can be opened with Standalone Designer R2 2017).

Feel free to log a feature request for having this functionality out-of-the-box into our feedback portal where other community members can vote for it. In case, there is a demand for such feature we can consider its implementation.

Hope this information helps.

Regards,
Katia

Thank you for your prompt reply, Katia.  I have submitted a feature request in the feedback portal. In the meantime I will go with your suggestion to use the textbox item and resolve the value to a checked or unchecked character.  It is more than twice the work but considering the vociferous complaints I received about the checkbox graphic, it will have to be done.
