I have a reportbook containing 150+ reports.  I'm looking for a way to add in a blank page on reports with an odd number of pages so that a report does not start on the back of a previous report when printing duplex.

Thanks,
   Wayne

Hello Wayne,

This is not possible. Page sections and their items are processed by the corresponding rendering extension after the report data has been processed. At this moment the report data source is not available anymore and due to this you can use the built-in PageNumber and PageCount objects (which contain the current page number which would be used to identify whether it is an odd page) only in this section. As page sections are not related to the report, rather than the media used, we cannot "insert" a page break to force a new page.

All the best,
Steve

That's what I suspected.  I had to resort to counting records on the back end and then adding an additional 1 page blank report to the reportbook when needed.  This is going to be a nightmare to maintain.
Looks like a good place for improvement in the ReportBook control.  I'm sure I'm not the only person that needs to be able to output reports formatted for duplex printing.

Is this issue resolved yet?  This post is from a year ago and we have exactly the same issue now a year later!  Is this something that is or will soon be added to your reporting tool?  I would think this would be a very useful thing!

There is no access to page number or total page count inside the report, as we understand it.  This makes us not be able to do various different tasks, like resetting a page number at the beginning of each section or to be able to insert blank pages if needed for duplexing before each section.

Is there a hack to get around this, at least?

Thanks!

Ben
