Hi,

We are running Telerik Reporting R1 2017. The report viewer takes around 10 minutes to render the processed report data by using ObjectDatasource with around 70000 rows even if we use paging. So we are trying to reduce the rendering time.

Is that possible to reduce the rendering time? If yes, How do we do that?

Thanks

Hi Soma,

Report generation is a complex, memory- and time-intensive operation. The performance will depend strongly on the report design. Please, check the Performance Considerations article (Performance factors in the developer’s control) for hints on improving the performance.

I hope this helps. But, if the problem still persists, we would need to review the report definition.

Hi,

Firstly, we always recommend upgrading to our latest version which currently is 15.0.21.326. Basically, a lot of factors influence the report's performance: machine capabilities, number of report items, amount of data, report's complexity and rendering format. Note that we suggest a minimum of a dual-core processor with at least 2 GB of RAM for the machine where the REST Service is running. Grouping and bindings can also decrease the speed of rendering, so if it is possible, please, consider reducing them.

For more information on how the report could be improved, you may check the Performance Considerations help article.
