I have a report that is currently generated by hand.  It is a 4 page report that is done by hand in Word.  Each page has text, images and dynamic data (some of which is inside paragraphs of text, bullet lists etc.  On page 4 is a data table.  I am trying to figure out the best approach to automate this report.  Should I use a Telerik Report, DocProcessing to generate it (which seems tedious with a RadFixedDocument), a word or html template??   Any suggestions?

Hello Jeffrey,

Telerik provides different libraries allowing you to render content in PDF, image, DOCX client and/or server side.

If you have a web application, you can use Telerik Kendo Ui libraries to render HTML into different formats e.g. Kendo UI editorKendo UI Document Export or  Kendo UI Grid: Export to PDF.

In case you need a server-side solution for a .NET project, then you can use:
  • Telerik Document Processing Libraries which are suitable for creating static templates like forms, or post-process already existing documents with the available import, merge, export options.
  • Telerik Reporting libraries if you need to generate report templates, which will be developed based on the assigned data. Reports can include charts, tables, complex calculations and aggregations over data. Reports can be visualized in viewer for interaction with users, or you can export them programmatically to generate directly a document - Using Telerik Reporting in Applications.

Hello Jeffrey,

The listed functionalities are available in Telerik Reporting. Reports can fetch the data from different data sources and display both text and images. Reports can be exported to PDF from the Report Designers, Report Viewers or programmatically.

Details on how to display reports in different types of application are provided in Using Telerik Reporting in Applications section.
