report Detail repeating for no reason.

I am creating sub reports, and it appears that they repeat their "Detail" section for no reason. 

When i'm in the sub-report, i narrowed it down to Detail section and label group. I put a simple textbox in group header and detail. 

while being inside the sub report, when i preview it, the text box in detail repeated itself 10 times. 

i went as far as removing the label grouping, so that my report consists of only 1 line, the detail. And that detail textbox still repeats 10 times, while previewing the report. 

can't make any sense of that : )

Hi,

The Detail section repeats for each record in the assigned data or group of data. Thus double check if you have assigned the report's DataSource. For better understanding of sections, please check our Report Structure help article.

what if i want to have a report with one data source, that should be used only for the chart. can i disassociate it with the report itself ?

think i figured it out.. just leave the report DataSource field empty :)
