Thank you for writing.
Your question has already been answered in the ticket "Reg: ReadOnly Checkbox in RadTreeView", but I am copying the answer here so the community can benefit from it.
I highly recommend you to upgrade to the latest version where RadTreeView is completely refactored. We have introduced this new tree in Q1 2011 and we constantly update it since then. In the latest version you can access the checkbox element in the NodeFormatting event and you can disable it or change its appearance.
For your version the check box is not a separate element and it being painted. Thus we will need a little trick to disable the checkboxes. We can use an image of an unchecked checkbox to simulate read only mode. Please refer to the attached project.
We highly appreciate your effort to make more visible this topic for the community. However, we will be glad if you are using only one communication channel for your future support communication.
