Hello,

I have a question about range bar charts. I use the latest release of reporting standalone designer. What I want to, is to have in the same category more than one range bar.

Here is what I get:

This is the data

What I expect is, that in category "Pause" a second range bar will be visible at the range from 1080 to 1439.

Is this not possible with report designer?

Regards

Karsten

Hello Karsten,

Thank you for the provided information and the screenshot!

It is indeed possible to display more than one range per series, please follow the steps to do this:

  1. Select the graph with the mouse
  2. Go to the SeriesGroups property(it's below the Data category)
  3. The series group is probably static so add a new grouping but in the grouping window, do not write any field, leave an empty group
  4. Now, the Pause will have more than one series which will mean that the second range will be at a little higher/lower position. To make the two series align, set the GraphSeries.ArrangeMode to Overlapped.
  5. Because of the empty series group, each range will have its own color. To fix that, add a Graph.ColorPalette with only 1 color.

For reference, this is how the empty grouping for the SeriesGroup should look like:

I will attach the sample report that I created while testing this so that you may use it as a reference for the steps.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or if you need further assistance.

Regards,
Dimitar
