Hello D3M1TR1US,

This could be done by inheriting RadDropDownButton and RadDropDownButtonElement classes. I've prepared for you and attached a small application to show you how to achieve this. You will just need to implement a custom theme for the new control.

To do this you could use either the Visual Style Builder or modify directly the XML code of one of the existing themes for RadDropDownButton. In the second case, I'll suggest combining the RadDropDownButton XML with the part for the RadGalleryElement of the RadRibbonBar theme .

Please let us know if you face any problems with this scenario. We will be glad to help.

Kind regards,

Well let me explain what button in Microsoft Office 2007 I am talking about. If you can:

#1. Open Microsoft Office 2007
#2. Go to the the "PAGE LAYOUT" tab.
#3. Please notice the "THEMES" button.

Notice how the drop down menu looks similar to the GalleryDropDown? How do I achieve this affect. Hope that explaination helps.

Hello D3M1TR1US,

Now I got your idea. Unfortunately, our gallery element works a little bit differently than the MS gallery. RadGalleryElement does not support the collapsed appearance. It has similar appearance only when there is no space in the ribbon bar (when the ribbon's width is reduced), which makes the gallery to look like a button. Still, this is not a real gallery element as in Word.

This feature will be implemented in a future release, but I cannot commit to any date at this time. I do not think there is a workaround at this time either.

If you have any other questions or suggestions, please don't hesitate to write us.

Kind regards,
